This is an example of the questionnaire I gave to my target audience, and a table of the results I gained.
- From the first 2 results, I can see that my idea to have a story in my contents page about a band I like supporting gay rights would be a good idea. I wanted to use this idea as it brings in all sexualities in my target audience.
- From the 3rd result, I can see that dressing my models in a grunge style for photo shoots would be a good idea, as most like this style.
- From the 4th result, I can see that having my female models in strong poses and going against Mulvey's theory of the 'male gaze' would be a good idea.
- From the 5th result, I can see that giving information about concerts and gigs, or putting a story about them on my contents page, would attract my audience as they like visiting them.
- From the 6th result, I can see that an equal amount like pink to not liking pink, so I should include some in my magazine to attract a female audience, but not too much.
- From the 7th result, I can see that most prefer blue colours to oranges, however it is quite equal so I have some space to do what I think will be more effective with the rest of the magazine.
- From the 8th result, I can see that most people do not find bad language offensive, and so could include it in my DPS story if I believe it will fit with the context of the story.
- From the 9th result, I can see that most people do not want information on outfits, however I could create a small story on the contents page on it for those who would like that knowledge.
- From the 10th result, I can see that most people do want some sort of freebies to go with the magazine.
- From the 11th result, I can see that people do not mind what kind of freebie is in a magazine, so I can decide if a CD or a download will go better with the magazine, and with the DPS.
- From the 12th result, I can see that most people do not like adverts, so I will not include them in my magazine.
- From the 13th result, I can see that most do like puns, so I could include them in some of the titles for the contents page, or in the DPS story.
- From the 14th result, I can see that people do not like cheesy photos, so I will try not to include them, and if I do, there will be a maximum of 2.
- From the 15th result, I can see that most people shop online, however there is quite a few people who do not. Due to this, I can put some links to the internet in the magazine, as well as links on social media to the magazine.
- From the 16th result, I can see that there is an almost equal amount of people that like natural and dark makeup, so I will include some photos with more natural makeup and some with darker makeup in my photo shoots.
- From the 17th result, I can see that competitions interest most people, so I could include a competition page on the contents page.
- From the 18th and 19th result, I can see that around half the people I gave the questionnaires to would follow a magazine on some form of social media, so I think I will include some links or mention of the magazines social media page inside the magazine, probably on the contents page.
- From the 20th result, I can see that most people would prefer a clearer front cover, and so I will make sure mine is not cluttered with too many stories, or competitions.
- From the 21st and 22nd result, I can see that most people would prefer to have a more expensive magazine with better quality that comes out monthly, so I will create my magazine with quality in mind.
- From the 23rd result, I can see that most people want a solo artist on the front cover, and so I will make sure that I have only one person on my front cover.
- From the 24th result, I can see that there are equal amounts of people that want gossip and that don't in a magazine, so I will include some on the contents page, but not over 3 stories on it.
- The 25th question was a bad question to ask as many people were not sure on what to answer so it didn't particularly gain a result other than name ideas, none of which particularly appeal to me.
I love the evaluative nature of this analysis and your judgements are good. Perhaps bullet points would help the presentation of this post and perhaps a different font for how this has affected you. Get rid of 'and so...' then you could bullet point your response to TA feedback. A potential level 4 post here. Well done.
